Our Inspiration

St.George was born in the late third century in what today is called Turkey. As an officer and skilled engineer in the Roman army, he contributed to the evolution of the empire, refused to renounce his faith, and remained open to all new things and different ways of thinking throughout his life.

The inspiration for our educational journey.

According to legend, a dragon was menacing the people of a local village. To appease the creature every day they sacrificed a sheep to feed its hunger. When they had no more sheep left, the King decreed that they sacrifice the local children to keep the dragon at bay. George arrived at the village the day the King’s daughter was selected by lottery as next to be sacrificed. As she was being led to the dragon, he offered to slay the beast, which he did successfully.

King Edward III made George the Patron Saint of England when he formed the Order of the Garter in his name in 1350.
